Car Ride

Ask Callie if she wants to go for a car ride and she jumps right in.  She really doesn't like the car so much....and she doesn't care where we go....just as long as she is included.  Thankfully, this time we were headed to the dog park so the car ride did not disappoint.

Happy Birthday Uncle Jason!!

At only a few months old, Callie had never barked.  Until Uncle Jason showed her how.  Happy Birthday Uncle Jason....and thanks for all the barking!! :)

(This is a pic of her first bark....while shoveling snow)

April 15th - Snow!!

Of course we should have expected snow.  It was 70 degrees all weekend, why shouldn't we expect snow on Tuesday morning?

Well, at least someone was happy to see snow in the middle of April.

Callie loves licking snow

Oh no, squirrel!

Darn, squirrel is outside of her fence.

Maybe if she stares at the squirrel it will come over to play (ie be chased)

Still waiting Mr. Squirrel!

Poor Callie, so sad the squirrel didn't want to play

Next time squirrel, Callie will for sure lure you into her yard next time.

My Fav Picture

This is my favorite picture of Callie, taken by Grandpa in his backyard.

Callie was being very photogenic that day, here are a few more!

April 6th, 2014

After the park, we headed home and grilled out on the back deck.  Callie climbed up on her lawn chair to watch her Dad grill....she would much rather watch her Grandpa grill though....Grandpa seems to always drop something in a prefect Callie sized bite....

Boat Time - 2013

My parents live about an hour away on a small lake.  After Callie started swimming at the dog park and off of my parent's small beach in their back yard we got Callie a life vest.  She has a blast hanging out on floaty toys with Grandpa.

Grrrr with Grandma

Callie LOVES playing grrrr.  When she was a puppy, she never made a sound.  We never heard her bark, barley even a whimper.  But, when we played tug of war, she would imitate the sounds we made...which happened to be grrr.  She still loves to grrrr, but she did learn how to bark.  I think it was because her throat hurt that she wasn't able to bark as a puppy

Play Time at Grandma and Grandpa's

Gotta love play time at Grandma and Grandpa's!  Look at that little butt wiggling!

April 1st, 2014 - Grrrr

Staying true to herself, Callie still likes playing "grrr" more than she likes playing with balls.

Here is a video of Callie playing Grrr with Grandma's sweater when she was a puppy

When Callie was a puppy, she never barked.  The only sound she ever made was Grrr when we played tug of war with her.  She still grrr's whenever we play tug of war with her...the second you stop playing, she stops grrring.

Feb 16th - What's in a name?

It took us a few hours to name her.

We were not planning on getting a puppy, we didn't have any names in mind.  The name she came with, Jelly, just wouldn't do.

We was born on Christmas, so my front runner was Noelle.  When I asked the puppy what she thought....she coughed up what sounded like a hair ball.  Obviously she didn't like that name.  We thought of Lucy, but it just didn't fit.

We started suggesting names from our favorite TV shows.  After a few more tries, one of us said Callie and she picked up her head (she was sleeping in my arms).  Callie is the name of a cartoon character on the sadly short lived TV show Ugly Americans.

Callie has since lived up to her name sake....she is very much a little demon at times.
